National Home Show

When I’m not in my studio, you can usually find me with my kids or enjoying a glass of red wine with friends. (Sometimes plans are overrated.) But this weekend, I’m heading into Toronto for the National Home Show—one of my favourite events of the year. Held on the Exhibition Place grounds at the Enercare Centre, there will be more than 500 vendors at this huge show, all with innovative ideas and products designed to work wonders in your space. I have to say, I’m really looking forward to checking out a few displays—I want to see the feature home, designed by the team at Bonneville Homes, and the Ontario Flower Growers’ Pop-up Market. (Spring is almost here and I could use some colourful hyacinths and tulips to get me through the end of winter.)

This year, I was asked to share some design wisdom and speak on a topic that I’m super passionate about: “Key Ingredients for Cooking Up Your Stylish Kitchen.” We all know that the kitchen is the heart of the home (I can’t tell you how much time I spend in mine) and it really should be one of the most prioritized spaces. So, I’ll be sharing the fundamentals to designing a beautiful, functional kitchen, and I’m planning on touching on things like how to know where you should save and when you should splurge; the best ways to integrate storage and how to incorporate must-have products and no-fail materials; and I’ll reveal some of my best tips for getting your dream kitchen. You can hear me on Saturday March 11 at 4 p.m. and Sunday March 12 at 3:15 p.m. I’m giving away tickets through my Instagram, so click below to enter! Also, I’ll be at the Reno+Decor booth during the day to chat with visitors and offer free 15-minute consultations. Come by and say hello if you’re at the show!
